QUICK-FIRE FUN

Dry or wet race? Dry for sure. I love F1 for the speed and seeing the cars at their top performance.
Senna or Prost? Senna. Relentless drive to win.
Monaco or Singapore? Easy. Singapore, competitive city racing at night.
Power unit limit or unlimited? Not sure how we race safely without the limits.
V10 or V6 hybrid? V6 hybrid. F1 is about technological innovation and the numbers speak for themselves.
Soft or hard tyre compound? Soft, pushing the limits in the turns.
KERS or DRS? KERS is cooler tech and fly by passing with DRS in the straights doesn’t make for more exciting racing for me.

Tomek Young

Global Motorsport Technology Manager, ExxonMobil

Born in a vibrant town in central Poland, Tomek had a passion for all things mechanical as far back as he can remember. Tomek is responsible for managing the technical side of the Mobil 1 and Esso motorsport sponsorships, headlined by the Red Bull Racing Honda team.

His first motorsport memory is going to motocross events at a track near a family vacation spot/at the Baltic sea and currently resides with his wife and son just north of Houston, Texas.

Finding cutting-edge technical solutions requires ingenuity but also patience to allow for optimization and refinement, hardly ever are breakthroughs a result of one person’s work. Tomek believes that only harnessing teamwork and collaborative power of individuals can lead to success.

Tomek leads an exceptional group of research engineers who are the brains behind the innovative Mobil 1™ motor oil and Esso Synergy™ race fuel that powers the team on track.
